Summer Horse Shoot with Ellie & Ronnie
Ellie turned 16 before Christmas and a gift voucher for a horse photo shoot with Helen Richmond Photography was her present. Lucky girl.
During her session, Ellie was keen to get some photographs of the dapples in Ronnie’s summer coat and the view as she turned him out every day.
To ensure a variety in her images, I asked Ellie to choose a couple of outfits for her session. Something ‘country casual’ and something ‘smart casual’. With everything needing to be comfortable. And footwear being safe…no stilettos or open toes!
After walking round the yard together, I spotted this amazing painted garage door in the shade. And Ellie’s blue jean shirt matched it perfectly. These images are my favourite from out time together.
I love long grass. And I’m always looking out for it on my horse shoots. Luckily for me, the cross country course hadn’t been cut yet! With bridle now on, we headed off to get some natural shots of Ronnie with Ellie amongst the buttercups and cow parsley.
With the rain clouds looming, I had kept the hay barn shots til last. And right on cue…it started drizzling just as we were getting settled in the barn. Phew!
Ronnie was a complete super star for his session and it was so lovely to work with a gorgeous young girl who clearly adores her horse.
